What is Y4E?
Y4E is a project I started in September 2017. In Y4E we believe that something as simple as a yoga class can benefit everyone: not only the people taking the yoga classes, but also the local community as well as those living in other corners of the world. Y4E works beyond the traditional limitations of the current yoga culture to make the benefits of the practice more accessible to a wide range of people. The idea is to help practitioners grow an awareness of themselves so they can connect more deeply as a community. Y4E believes that yoga can be utilized as a tool for service and extend our onsite work also into the philanthropic area. We host events and classes benefiting non-profit organizations. By providing accessible, low priced yoga classes to members of the community we hope to create a space for individuals to acknowledge and sustain themselves and therefore to lay the foundation for a strong community capable of taking yoga beyond the four corners of the yoga mat. Because after all, we practice yoga not only to make our butt look nice but also to have a positive impact on the world around us.
Current charity cooperations:
Right now Y4E cooperates with Support Ethiopia. Support ethiopia is a student-run, Vienna based charity organisation that is dedicated to supporting rural population of Ethiopia in their daily lives. Central concerns of the organisation are securing the water supply, construction of sanitary facilities as well as the promotion of environmentally friendly and sustainable management forms through suitable livestock and plants. All of this is built together with the locals and subsequently maintained and cared for by them. 20% of all profits each month will go to their charity.
